The St. James is located along the False Bay coastline overlooking the trendy and vibrant fishing village of Kalk Bay with magnificent views across False Bay and the Indian Ocean.
The St. James is a grand seaside retreat, built and owned by mining magnates. It is over 100 years old, with wood paneling throughout that originated from an old shipwreck.
This cosmopolitan Kalk Bay harbourside village attracts locals and visitors all year round. Fresh fish can be brought from the local fisherman and the harbour itself offers a number of excellent seafood restaurants from rustic local cuisine to fine dining experiences. Kalk Bay Main Road is a hive of novel antique and boutique style shops, delis and art galleries, all within a 5 minute walk from The St. James
The St. James has two tidal pools in front of it, ideally suited for swimming in the warm waters of False Bay. It has easy access to Fish Hoek, Simonstown, Boulders Beach and Cape Point and there are many walking and hiking trails up the magnificent mountains that tower over the retreat.
